Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency Launched in the EU

The Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency replaces the existing Technical Assistance Offices and will be responsible for the management of certain strands of Community programmes and actions in education, audiovisual and culture. The European Commission has set up the new the new Agency from January 2005 until 31 December 2008. It will deal with financial matters relating to grants and contracts, as well as technical affairs. The European Commission will focus on formulating policy and the political decision-making process.
