UNESCO/UIE International Award for Literacy Research 2004

The UNESCO Institute for Education has launched the new cycle of the International Award for Literacy Research. The deadline for contributions is the end of 2004.

The competition is open to researchers in all world regions and aims at stimulating and honouring investigations and new insights in the field of adult literacy. In many European countries there are serious problems with adult literacy, and good research as well as projects to meet the needs.

Hoping to contribute to the objectives of the UN Literacy Decade, a special thematic focus has been chosen for this year’s competition in line with the UN Literacy Decade’s focus for next year: “adult literacy for sustainable development.”

Please have a closer look at the Call for Manuscripts 2004 in English, French or Spanish. Manuscripts written in either one of the three languages will be accepted. Send your contributions by the end of 2004 to: Bettina Bochynek, Research Specialist, UNESCO Institute for Education, Feldbrunnenstrasse 58, 20148 Hamburg, Germany
